Meet Tennessee Requirements

The State of Tennessee requires all students in a cosmetology instructor program to hold a valid license as a cosmetologist, esthetician, manicurist, or natural hairstylist. The individual must hold a license in the field they are approved to teach for at least three continuous years in order to obtain an instructor license. Each student must complete a board-approved course in instructor training of at least 300 hours within a period of six months as an instructor trainee.

The cosmetology instructor program at Mid-South Beauty and Barbering Academy is board-approved and meets the state requirements. We strive to prepare our students to sit for the state exam after meeting the remaining requirements.

Gain Access to Counseling Resources During Your Training

We are pleased to partner with For the People Counseling Agency, a local counseling agency that helps individuals reflect and grow in healthy ways. Students of our school are given access to counseling and wellness resources to support their mental health and overall well-being during their education.
