Enrollment at our Memphis beauty school is ongoing throughout the year. If you are ready for beauty school, we encourage you to begin your enrollment journey.
Take a School Tour: Touring our school is one of the most important steps in the enrollment process. We want you to experience life at Mid-South Beauty and Barbering Academy, and that can only be accomplished by visiting us while school is in session. We can show you our classrooms and the student salon area. You can see students performing services on real clients under the direct supervision of licensed instructors. You could even schedule a service for yourself while you are here!
A personal tour will give you the opportunity to meet instructors, students, and an admissions advisor. When you talk with the admissions advisor, you can ask questions, discuss your future goals, and find out more about completing the enrollment process.

Complete Your Paperwork: You will be given some enrollment paperwork to fill out, depending on your desired program. There will be instructions on how to fill it out and where to submit it.
Choose a Payment Plan: We offer various payment plan options to make it easier for you to pay your tuition. Talk to an admissions advisor to learn more about payment plans.
We’ll Get in Touch: We will contact you if you are accepted into one of our programs. You will receive information about your start date and other things you need to know before your first day of school.
Most of our programs have no prerequisites. As long as you meet our enrollment requirements, you can begin the enrollment process.
We do offer a cosmetology instructor program with a prerequisite. To enroll in the instructor program, you must have a valid professional license for cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, manicuring, or natural hairstyling, and you must have had the license for at least three consecutive years.
We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate students with jobs or family commitments. Contact us to learn more about our scheduling options.
Our school serves people in the Memphis, Tennessee area and residents of the compact state area, including people who live in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee, and Virginia. Contact us to learn more about multi-state licenses.
Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for the beauty industry in the real world. Students are prepared to sit for the State exam. We also teach business management, helping students understand what it is like to own or manage their own salon or barbershop, how to build a client base, and how to effectively consult with clients. While we cannot guarantee employment after graduation, we do provide students with plenty of networking opportunities through community engagement and guest speakers at our school.
